Lunch at Trattoria e Pizzeria Da Maria in Amalfi. Giuseppe,
the Captain at the hotel, recommended it.
The restaurant is owned by his brother Mario (in black) who is a real
character. He runs a large, very successful
restaurant in the main square of Amalfi.
Everyone who works at the restaurant is a relative - - Colomba (daughter),
Maria (mother), Luigi (son of Colomba), Georgio (cousin) plus a few other
cousins. Giuseppe has 120 first cousins
in the Amalfi area. We tried the pizza
and the Pasta Fruitti di Mare. Mario gave us a tour of the restaurant. Excellent
lunch.

Hotel Belvedere in Conca dei Marini
The Hotel Belvedere was perfect for our stay on the Amalfi
Coast. It was only 15 minutes from the
Town of Amalfi. Great view of the coast
and ocean. We had beautiful rooms with a
large terrace. The entire hotel staff
was so friendly and professional. Giuseppe (in white coat),
the captain in the dining room, was outstanding – very funny, lots of jokes, and
very efficient. Food and service was
outstanding. Anna Maria was on the front
desk and took care of our hotel and travel arrangements. The hotel is a favorite of the folks from
Great Britain. Rex had lots of trivia on Great Britain, which
amused the other guests.
Town of Amalfi
Toured the town of Amalfi. Beautiful day. Visited Cathedral. The mighty Rex buys wine and Limoncello.
We went to a fabulous pizzeria in Amalfi, recommended by hotel...a relative. The Da Maria established since 1934..now into 4th generation...great pasta and pizzas!Great way to spend a rainy day in Italy!
