Palermo - Dinner

Dinner at Casa del Brodo, Palermo.  It was our best meal since arriving in Italy.  The waiters were entertaining and fun.  Rex had a great time with the fish, wines.

Palermo - Lunch

Lunch at Antica Focacceria San Francisco.  Excellent food.

Palermo, Sicily

Visited Palazzo dei Normanni, the Royal for and the center of political power in Sicily since 1100.  The Cappella Palatina is a combination of Arab-Norman architecture.  Stopped at the Cattedrale of Palermo.

Palermo, Sicily

Rex and Marni took the Hop-on Hop-off bus to tour the city.  The rest of us did a walking tour.  Here is Karen at the Piazza Pretoria, which is also known as the Square of Shame after the abundant saucy nudes.  In the 1500’s, Nuns attached the statues attempting to destroy them.  Also, came across a student protest – talking to some students, it appears that the students “don’t like school.”  The special police, known as the Carabinieri, were out in force.  Also, stopped at another church - people write requests to St. Joseph.

Cefalu, Sicilhy

Spent the afternoon in coastal town of Cefalu.  We walked the town, had lunch.  Karen and Gary climbed the mountain.  Here is a picture of the famous "Unknown Man."
